Welcome back to Straight Talk Beauty Blog!
Seeing as we are so close to Christmas and many of you may want to do something slightly different with your makeup over the festive season. I’ve come up with a few simple ideas so you can have that glittery eye or stand out lips. Plus a nice discount on a popular lip plump which I’ve reviewed as well. Let’s dive right in…
Are you fed up with your makeup? Wish you could have something a little different to make you feel nicer around the party season but isn’t difficult to apply? Feast your eyes on Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter.
Available in a range of colours, there has never been a simpler way to apply glitter on your eyelids, use as eyeliner or just to pop a little in your inner corners for a hint of sparkle. Retailing at £14 they last a very, very long time. I have been using these regularly over the last year and they are no where near finished as you only need the tiniest amount. You can easily apply this yourself. My only tip would be to keep your eyes closed for a good five minutes once you’ve applied it as it needs time to dry properly. If you open your eyes prematurely you’ll have glitter all over your eye in all the wrong places so sit back, have a five minute nap and bingo! Glittery eyes! 😍 I highly recommend these for anyone who is on the lookout for a good quality glitter or anyone who isn’t great at makeup but would like a little something special for any occasion, especially Christmas. Here’s a few demonstrations of how they can be used. Once you’ve applied your eyeshadow apply the glitter all over your lid or you can use it as an eyeliner. It is so much easier than regular black eyeliner! Whichever colour of glitter you choose, use a similar shade of eyeshadow on your eyelid first so they can blend into one another perfectly.
Maybe you want something a little more daring and super sparkly?!
I have shot a tutorial just for you on glitter lips. It could not be easier and it really doesn’t irritate you once it’s on. I thought it would but was pleasantly surprised and it’s a cheap, quick way to amp up your makeup!

And finally a review on a product from a brand I thought would be just another gimmick and rolled my eyes when I saw it so I decided to give it to someone else to use for a week, someone with a more open mind than me when it comes to these things. I’m pretty sure everyone has heard of NU Skin by now? Have you been harassed by a representative or been added to one of their many groups?
Well their Contouring lipgloss was given to a close and very opinionated friend of mine as she has thin lips and I don’t so it would be wasted on me. It promises to focus on the Cupid’s bow of your lip which fades with age and has been proven to stimulate collagen (something we all start to produce less of on our skin and makes us age, wrinkle etc 😢) In one month, used daily of course, it will help you achieve a fuller lip. So what did my friend have to say about this when I called her? Assuming I knew what the answer would be but got it completely wrong.
Well to my surprise she said it’s the best gloss she’s ever used. ‘REALLY’?! 😦 I said. She wears lipstick every day and once she applied the gloss on top she was pleased it didn’t bleed out from her lip line like she said many others have and it did make her lips look a lot fuller. She has had it about 3 weeks now and said she would buy it again as she has noticed a difference and would rather use a gloss than get lip injections. It retails at £20 but with 20% off it’ll give you the full lips without the lip fillers and hefty price tag after a month. So for £16 it seems a good deal if your lips are something you wish you could change but don’t want to spend the cash in lip fillers or are just too scared to get injections in your lips! Try this first, they are certainly safer and more affordable. After doing some research online I found a lot of positive reviews about this gloss so go for it if you want a bigger pout. And I’ll learn to not be so sceptical.
